Velayati: Zarif acting within Leader's guidelines framework

Head of Expediency Council Strategic Research Center Ali Akbar Velayati lauded the country's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif for acting within the framework for nuclear talks as set by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, IRNA reported.

'Mohammad Javad Zarif showed that he is committed to whatever should take place at the foreign ministry and it is recommended by the Supreme leader,' Velayati told reporters after meeting Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Media, Energy and Technology of Germany Llse Aigner on Tuesday.

In May, Velayati reiterated the country's opposition to the world powers' bullying and excessive demands, including interview with Iranian scientists, in the nuclear talks.

'Iran doesn't tolerate any imposition in the nuclear negotiations and doesn't allow interrogation of its nuclear scientists,' Velayati said in a meeting with a visiting Jordanian cultural-social delegation in Tehran.

Expressing the hope that Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) could reach a final deal before the July 1 deadline, he said, 'If the Americans seek to lowball and raise new plots and demands, we don't know what the results would be since we are always witnessing new and excessive demands from the US.'

Velayati, meantime, stressed that Iran is determined to continue talks with the G5+1 to reach positive and desirable results.
