The Arak heavy water reactor will be redesigned and rebuilt within five years, said a senior Iranian diplomat

"The document for rebuilding Arak reactor has provided a schedule for implementing commitments," said Abbas Araqchi, during a televised interview with Iranian state TV Nov. 25.

"The maximum time period for rebuilding Arak reactor is five years," he said. "One year has been considered for redesigning and three-four years have been allocated for rebuilding."

Araqchi further added that the country has prepared several regulations to make the situation clear for those who are interested in economic activities in Iran once the sanctions are lifted.

According to Araqchi, the documents include information that marine trade delegations need to know to engage in trade activities in the Islamic Republic.

Following his 24.Nov meeting with, Yukiya Amano, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Araqchi said that Tehran expects the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) that Iran reached with world powers in July, to be implemented at the start of next year.

Under the deal clinched in July sanctions will be lifted in return for scaling down Iran's nuclear program.

According to the JCPOA signed between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries, Tehran is committed to reducing the number of its centrifuges.
