Iran never reciprocated cyber-attacks

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari reacted to the recent statements of the US officials on cyber-attacks, saying that Iran has never reciprocated illegal cyber attacks, IRNA reported.

"Iran has never responded to these illegal attacks with reciprocal cyber attacks," Jaber Ansari said on Friday.

He reiterated that in Iran's view lack of an efficient legal system in the international scene to prevent and prohibit such attacks is one of serious shortages in this field.

Jaber Ansari said that Iran has been victim of serious cyber-attacks such as Stuxnet in the recent years.

"Iran as a responsible-prone country which is currently the rotating president of the non-aligned movement has always been committed to adopting and strengthening the preventive mechanisms in this field and it has always called on other countries, especially the western countries to cooperate and prevent destructive cyber attacks and measures," the foreign ministry spokesman said.

Jaber Ansari reiterated that unfortunately the performance of some countries in this regard has not been constructive and it has damaged the international norms.
