Iran, Romania underline significance of parliamentary ties

The representative of the Romanian Senate in a meeting with the visiting Iranian lawmakers in Bucharest on Friday underlined that the cooperation between the Iranian and Romanian parliaments will pave the way for strengthening of mutual cooperation.

The representative of the Romanian Senate in a meeting with the visiting Iranian lawmakers in Bucharest on Friday underlined that the cooperation between the Iranian and Romanian parliaments will pave the way for strengthening of mutual cooperation, IRNA reported.

According to Iran's Embassy in Bucharest, Titus Korlatsean in a meeting with the Iranian lawmakers Javad Jahangirzadeh and Hadi Shoushtatri welcomed the visiting Iranian parliamentary friendship group, saying the new chief of Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group will be appointed soon.

He, meantime, pointed to the Syrian crisis and the global threat by the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group, and said, "The Syrian crisis has only a political solution which will be achieved through negotiations and for achieving that all countries should show seriousness.

The Iranian lawmakers, for their part, focused on regional developments, hoping that after rectification of policies by the western governments, a suitable solution will be found for the settlement of regional problems and the Syrian crisis, in particular.

Both sides exchanged views on certain international developments including the humanitarian crisis in Syria and campaign against terrorism.
