Iran's minister of communications and information technology Mahmoud Vaezi called for launching joint production lines with Russia.
He made the remarks after his meeting with visiting Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov on Dec. 22 in Tehran, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported.
The mutual cooperation between Tehran and Moscow should not focus only on trade, but also on establishing plants for joint production, with respect to the potential of the two countries, Vaezi said.
He further said that Iran and Russia will sign a joint monetary agreement, in order to facilitate exchange of Iran's rial and Russia's ruble.
The agreement once signed will lead to Tehran-Moscow economic relations' development, the minister added.
Vaezi also said that removing obstacles on boosting bilateral cooperation was discussed during the two ministers' visit.
Russia will take due steps towards decreasing its customs tariff in line with Iran's interests, Vaezi said.
The Iranian minister also said that Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov is scheduled to visit Tehran Dec. 23.
The customs tariff, joint monetary agreement and the national currencies' exchange as well as the cooperation of Iran-Russia private sectors are scheduled to be reviewed during the Russian official's visit, Vaezi added.
Currently Iran-Russia trade turn-over stands at $2 billion while the figure for 2013 was $4 billion.
Earlier, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Iran and Russia intend to invest $35-40 billion in joint medium-term projects.
Russia's three-day national industrial exhibition "Trade and Industrial Dialogue: Russia - Iran" inaugurated in Tehran on Dec. 21.
A Russian delegation consisting of 100 businessmen and officials will stay in Tehran for the three days to exhibit Russia's automotive, transportation, aviation, agricultural and other technologies.
New Russian aircraft models are also part of the exhibition.
