The Iran-Russia relations can be crucial for ensuring global and regional security, Adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Akbar Velayati said Feb. 3, RIA Novosti reported.
"Iran and Russia have a long history," he said. "Our relations are crucial for the stability at the regional and global level."
"We held a number of meetings with senior Russian officials," he said. "We intend to continue holding meetings.
Velayati has been on a visit to Moscow from Feb. 1.
He has recently met with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov and Russia's special envoy on Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev.
