Iran's government has set April 28 as deadline for Campaigning in parliamentary run-off elections to be held April 29.

According to the elections headquarters, the candidates will not be allowed to engage in any electoral campaign activities as off 0800 local time (GMT+4:30) on April 28, state-run TV reported. According to the report, 136 nominees are running for 68 seats in Iran's 290-seat parliament.

The candidates are competing to secure seats for 55 constituencies in which no candidate achieved a clear majority during February's general elections.

About 17 million voters are eligible to go to ballot boxes for the run-off across the country. There will be no run-off vote in the capital, Tehran, as candidates close to President Hassan Rouhani gained all 30 seats in February.
