A number of defense industry plans were inaugurated in Iran on May 22.
The inauguration was attended by Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan, IRNA news agency reported May 23.
The mentioned units will produce advanced individual combat weapons, shoulder-fired missiles, and related ammunition.
Iran has stressed boosting its military capabilities amid Western criticism. Tehran defends its military program by citing prevailing security conditions around its borders.
The country is in a years-long dispute with western powers over its missile program. While the West tries to pose Iran's missile program as a world threat, Iran says it only pursues defensive goals.
