The US is seeking to establish “a direct contact line” with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy, an IRGC commander said.

Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, commander of the IRGC Navy, has said that over the past three to four years, the Americans have sought establishing “a direct contact line” with his forces, Tasnim news agency reported Sept. 14.

He added that the officials of the Islamic Republic disagreed about establishing a contact line.

Over the past weeks, the US has described the IRGC’s behavior in the Persian Gulf as “unsafe” and “unprofessional.”

However, the IRGC has dismissed the allegations, saying its forces have behaved according to international regulations.
