By Fatih Karimov – Trend:

Iran and Switzerland signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in the field of nuclear safety.

The deal was signed by Nasser Rastkhah, the head of Iran’s Nuclear Safety System Center and his Swiss counterpart Hans Wanner from Swiss Federal Nuclear Safety Inspectorate, IRNA news agency reported.

Commenting on the issue, Rastkhah said that the document, which was proposed by Switzerland, will pave the path for cooperation in nuclear safety.

Signing the MoU indicates that Iran and the global community are moving towards bilateral collaboration, the Iranian official added.

Iran has held talks with various countries to cooperate in nuclear safety after it reached a nuclear deal with world powers, which came into force last January.

Some European countries including Norway as well as Japan have already announced their readiness to help Iran with nuclear safety.
