Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has introduced nominees for three posts, namely, the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, as well as Education Minister.

President Rouhani has nominated Reza Salehi Amiri for the post of Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister, TASNIM news agency reported.

Meanwhile Masud Soltanifar is President Rouhnai’s candidate for the post of Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, with Fakhruddin Ahmadi Danesh-Ashtiani for the post of Education Minister.

Over the past week, former Minister of Education Ali Asghar Fani alongside with Minister of Islamic Guidance and Culture Ali Jannati, as well as Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mahmoud Goudarzi stepped down.

According to the Iranian constitution, the nominees for ministerial posts have to get confidence votes from the country’s parliament.

With less than one year left of Hassan Rouhani's first term as the president of Iran, many observers suggest that the “cabinet reshuffle” came aimed at fulfilling expectations.
