No party can change the Syria fate unilaterally without Iran’s involvement, the spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Bahram Qasemi, said.

He made the remarks while commenting about ongoing crisis in Syria during a press conference in Tehran on Jan. 23, Trend's correspondent reported.

It is not true that Iran is being pushed aside in Syria, Qasemi added.

He further said that Iran and Turkey has some differences regarding the issue, however the two countries can reach an understanding through talks for Syrian crisis settlement which is undergo in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Iran’s stance on the issue is realistic and it will not change, Qasemi said, adding that other parties have the wisdom to understand how they should deal with the Islamic Republic.

He further said that certain media inside and outside Iran are trying to put Tehran and Ankara in opposite sides in Syrian crisis.

Qasemi added that Turkey’s presence in Astana talks is constructive due to its important regional position.

The trilateral meeting on Syria settlement opened in Astana Jan. 23. The negotiations brokered by Russia, Turkey and Iran is held behind closed doors.
