Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said that nuclear talks between Iran and the six world powers can be a model for similar talks that can lead to security and stability in the region.

Iran opened a new path in talks with western powers including the US, thanks to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s ‎"heroic flexibility" policy, Rouhani said, Iran’s state-run IRI‎NN TV reported Feb. 7.

Prior to nuclear talks which concluded with historic nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers (US, UK, France, Germany, China and Russia) in 2015, Khamenei stated that he is "not opposed to diplomacy," and he believes in an idea called "heroic flexibility".

‎President Rouhani further said that Iran with "logic" and "dignity" achived a deal that the new US president cannot tolerate it and says it is the worst deal in the United States' history.

Meanwhile, Rouhani added that the nuclear deal is a win-win agreement, which is in favor of all parties as well as the Middle East.

Iran and the world powers inked the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) on July 14, 2015 and started implementing it on January 16, 2016.

Under the nuclear agreement, Iran undertook to put limitations on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions imposed against Tehran.

President Trump has harshly criticized the nuclear deal, adding that the accord has prevented the collapse of the Islamic Republic.
