A senior Iranian diplomat has denied any plans for the Islamic Republic to establish ties with Washington.
“Establishing ties with US is not on Iran’s agenda,” Deputy Foreign Minister for International and Legal Affairs Abbas Araqchi was quoted by Iranian media sources.
The official made the remarks during his visit to Geneva to attend the High Level Segment of the Human Rights Council.
Tehran and Washington severed diplomatic ties after a group of Iranian students stormed the US embassy in Tehran in 1979.
