Head of the Iran's Armed Forces' Judicial Organization, Mohammad-Kazem Bahrami said that at least 30 people were involved in case of issuing fake military exemption cards, the official IRNA news agency reported Oct. 28.

These people were arrested, according to report.

The case is still under investigation in the organization, he noted, adding those who are involved in forgering military exemption cards will be punished severely.

In Iran, military service is mandatory for all males at the age of 18, however those who attend college immediately after high school can postpone military service.

Men who do not serve in the military or have not been exempted are ineligible for government jobs and typically are not hired for high-paying jobs. They also cannot apply for a passport.
