Iranian Red Crescent forces dispatched to rescue 15 German tourists

Director of the Red Crescent Society of the northern Iranian city of Amol , Mazandaran Province , Jamshid Nikzad has said that rescue teams from the organization along with three specialist mountain relief teams have been dispatched to the Rineh heights where 15 German tourists disappeared.

"Since March 9 afternoon 15 women and men German tourists have gone missing in the Rineh heights of Mazandaran," Nikzad stated, Fars news agency reported March. 10.

He added that the tourists were 50 to 70 years of age and were led by a local tour guide to the Garna area of Larijan County to ascend Damavand heights. Their path was blocked because of heavy snow and blizzard in areas up to the Rineh Industrial town, he said.

The latest reports say that the path taken by the tourists has been identified, but no further information has been released.
