Iranian Army Commander Major General Ahmadreza Pourdastan has said that the Army is going to unveil five new products on April 15.
The unveiling ceremony will be held on the day of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Sayyad Shirazi and a few days before the Iranian Army Day, Pourdastan said, IRIB news agency reported April 11.
Sayyari was a high-ranking military official who was assassinated in a terror attack in 1999.
The products include a 33-mm sniper, wheeled, 90-mm tank, and 3 similar products, Pourdastan stated.
After the 8-year war with Iraq which ended in 1988, Iran put much energy and money into developing its military. Under global pressure, it tapped domestic capabilities to develop various defense systems, from tanks to drones, submarines, radar systems, and long-range missiles.
