Iran has amputated the fingers of the hand of two convicted thieves in a prison in northeastern city of Mashhad.
The punishment was carried out on June 28, Iran 's Khorasan newspaper reported.
One of the convicts whose fingers ware cut off had committed ten robberies. Another convict, a 26-years-old man was committed also several robberies.
The defendants earlier appealed against the ruling, however the local appeal court confirmed the primary verdict.
Cutting off the hands of thieves is allowed under the Islamic Republic laws, however it has been rare in recent years.
