As many as 464 Iranian pilgrims have been confirmed dead in Hajj stampede in Mena, Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization said, the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) Iranian news channel website said Oct.1.

More than 750 Hajj pilgrims were killed and about 1000 others injured during the Hajj stampede in Mena Sept.24.

Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization of Iran has disseminated an appeal in connection with the tragedy. "We have been to all the clinics and hospitals in Mecca, Jeddah, Taif, Mena, Arafat and other places. The identity of all the victims of this tragedy has been established. With deep sorrow we inform that the number of Iranian pilgrims killed in Mena is 464," the message said.

It is also reported that every effort is made to deliver the bodies to their homeland.
