Colonel Muslim Hizab, a battalion commander at Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), was killed in Syria, IQNA reported Oct. 19.

Hizab was on a consultation mission in Syria. The colonel was buried Oct. 19 morning in Iran's Isfahan.

Over the past few weeks, several commanders of the IRGC have been killed in Syria.

The highest-ranking among them was Brigadier General Hossein Hamadani, who was killed Oct. 8 by the "Islamic State" near the Syrian city of Aleppo.
