The new radar can detect small objects, as well as anti-radar aircrafts, ballistic and cruise missiles, Esmaili said, state-run IRINN TV reported Aug. 29.

Esmaili further said that the radar is capable to track U-2 aircrafts and UAVs such as MQ-1 and RQ-4.

No further details were unveiled.

Since 1992 Iran has been relying on domestic talents to produce various sorts of missiles, radars, tanks, destroyers, etc. as the country has been under international restrictions to buy military object from abroad.
