The film about the National Hero of Azerbaijan Samir Khasiyev was aimed at young audience of Azerbaijan in order to show the youth the true value at his example, the initiator of the film, Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva said at the presentation of pictures of "The Will of Samir".

In early 1994 the national hero Samir Khasiyev voluntarily went to the front and took part in heavy battles in the direction of Agdam, Agdere, Tartar regions. In the battle for Terter, Khasiyev showed courage in the liberation of his colleagues from the enemy captivity. In order to identify the weak points of the enemy, he repeatedly took part in operations for intelligence. Later, successfully passing the training of officers, Khasiyev returned to the front with the rank of lieutenant.

In 1995, Khasiyev took part in military operations to prevent attempts of coup d'etat, in which he was killed. The national leader of Azerbaujan Heydar Aliyev highly appreciated his services to the motherland, the people, the state and after Khasiyev'a death and awarded him the title of National Hero.

When Samir went to the front, he was 18 years old. At 21 years of age, he was awarded the title of National Hero. And this heroism should serve as an example for our youth, said Pashayeva.

The MP expressed hope that movies about the heroes of the Karabakh war will often be displayed on Azerbaijani television screens, because these people have followed the idea of protecting the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

"When we visit the frontier military units, we find there soldiers like Samir, who are staunchly defending their homeland," Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova said at the event.
