The Sumgayit City Police Department investigates the facts of mass poisoning at swcondary school No.38, Assistant to the Sumgayit City Prosecutor Ahmed Mammadov told Trend News.
According to Mammadov, on Oct.23 the company's employees have distributed to pupils crackers and chips to advertise their products at school.
Some 38 pupils of secondary school were hospitalized with a diagnosis of poisoning. After the first aid the children were discharged from hospital. Currently three pupils are under treatment in the hospital, Mammadov said.
The police have taken employees of the company distributing crackers to the Sumgayit City Police Department to testify and sent products for examination.
According to Mammadov, the investigation would identify the culprits and in the case of evidence of their guilt, they will be prosecuted under the relevant Article 200 "Deception of consumers or the production and sale of substandard products" of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
