A leader of an organized criminal group accused of kidnapping a Chinese citizen for ransom in Azerbaijan was arrested, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry said.
The leader of a criminal group, Chinese citizen Ji Fong Ping and member of this group Khu Ye kidnapped their compatriots Liu Genyong and his brother Liu Khiaole in Masalli region of Azerbaijan.
The offenders kidnapping their compatriots on Nov.13 released them in exchange of $22,000 which they received from Genyong's wife Khuong Sujjen.
The Interior Ministry's Department for Combating Organized Crime has filed a criminal case.
