The Azerbaijani pilgrims injured in Karbala incident are in normal health condition, Azerbaijani Embassy in Jordan, citing the Iraqi Interior Ministry told Trend today. After receiving treatment they were resided in the Kazimiyya hotel, the source said.
Jan.28 Azerbaijani pilgrims traveling to Karbala came under fire in the Iraqi city of Samara.
From Azerbaijani pilgrims, Abdullayev Mushvig, born in 1986, was wounded from his arm and Nazarova Nushabe from her breast.
16-years old pilgrim Leyla Ahmadova died a result and was buried in Iraq.
After the incident, the wounded Azerbaijanis undertook medical treatments in a hospital in the Kazimiyya city, and then they were placed in a hotel, the embassy reported.
According to the Embassy, also accredited to Iraq, the state of the rest Azerbaijani citizens is normal and they are now in the Kazimiyya city.
The Iraqi Mutavakkil company operating in Iran provided visas to the Azerbaijani pilgrims, falsifying the stamp of the Iraqi embassy in Azerbaijan, Iraqi ambassador to Azerbaijan Ershad Omar Ismail said earlier.
Ershad Ismail also stated that while the serial number of the Iraqi visas starts with 4, the visas provided to pilgrims start with 83.
Samara is considered a hot spot, the ambassador said.
