The Republican Seismological Service Center of the Azerbaijani Academy of National Sciences stated that seismological background is normal in Azerbaijan and there is no need for concern.

"The earthquake occurred in small earthquake centers in the Caspian Sea. It is a normal process. If there are earthquake centers, such kind of sensible or insensible tremors are natural," Republican Seismological Service Center Director Gurban Yetirmishli told Trend on Wednesday

Tremors measuring 3 on the Richter scale were felt in Baku around 23:33 local time on Tuesday, Republican Seismological Service Center told Trend.

The epicenter of earthquake was located in 49 km south-east of the Caspian Sea.

No victim and damage has been recorded.

Yetirmishli said 5-6 small tremors are recorded in Azerbaijan every day.
