Four people were killed in the result of mine explosion in the Iranian Susangerd city, an Iranian news agency Mehr told Trend on Monday.
The dead were employees of a private company which was engaged in mine clearing.
Susangerd is located 65 kilometers from the city of Ahwaz. In 1980 during the Iran-Iraq War, Iraqi troops after the attack on Susangerd kept it surrounded for three days. Then the Iranian army launches a counteroffensive and liberated the city.
The Iran-Iraq war lasted from 1980 to 1988 for supremacy over the strategically important strait between Iran and Iraq and the river Shatt al-Arab. The war ended in August 1988 as a result of a ceasefire. Each country has restored pre-war position.
