The man convicted of assassination of nuclear physicist Massoud Ali-Mohammadi in 2010, Majid Jamali Fashi, was hanged in Tehran's Evin Prison at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, IRNA news agency reported.

One of the leading Iranian specialists on nuclear physics Masoud Alimohammadi was killed in January 2010 as a result of a bomb explosion near his home in Tehran. The bomb was attached to a motorcycle parked nearby, and was remote controlled. According to one version, Alimohammadi was killed for his involvement in Iran's nuclear program, which raises serious concerns in the West.

In late January of that year, the National Security Minister of Iran Heydar Musleh informed about the arrest of members of the "Israeli spy network" accused of murdering the scientist.
26-year-old Fashi was accused of cooperating with the "Israeli spy network", participating in the secret teachings in Israel, organizing acts of terror in Iran and drug trafficking.
