Explosion hits oil pipeline in north of Yemen

An explosion hit an oil pipeline in the Marib Province in the north of Yemen, Al Arabiya TV channel reported on Thursday.

It is already the second explosion that hit the oil pipeline over the last week.

It is reported that last year the country suffered a loss of half a billion dollars due to the explosion that hit the oil pipeline.

This oil pipeline has been repeatedly attacked by "Al-Qaeda" militants, which are active in this region

Active military confrontation between "Al-Qaeda" militants and government forces began in Yemen more than a year ago. Units of extremists captured a number of towns in the south of the country, in the province of Abyan. Many settlements are still under their control.
