Turkish police took under control the situation in Taksim Square, TRT Haber TV channel reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, some protesters threw "Molotov cocktail" at police.

This morning the Istanbul police blocked roads leading to Taksim Square, where several groups of people are continuing protesting.

Earlier, the governor of Istanbul Huseyin Avni Mutlu said that the police will not use force against the protesters in Taksim Square

According to him, the purpose of the police is to clear the area of anti-government posters and remove the barricades.

Earlier it was reported that on June 12 the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with representatives of the protesters.

The protests against the reconstruction of the Gezi Park on Taksim Square in Istanbul lasted more than 10 days.

On the eve protesters also clashed with the police on Kızılay square in Ankara.
