Michael Schumacher only underwent one emergency operation following a skiing accident in the French Alps, doctors in Grenoble confirmed.
"Yes, only once," a doctor treating the Formula One racing legend said at a press conference Monday. "He had some lesions in his brain when he came in. He's in a critical situation and we can say that he's fighting for his life."
Doctors have ruled out a second operation for Michael Schumacher for now, saying "at this moment we don't think he'll need a second operation."
French media reported earlier that the seven-time world champion suffered a brain haemorrhage and underwent a second emergency operation overnight, dpa reported.
