Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said on Saturday that no sign had yet been found of a missing Malaysia Airlines plane that vanished from radar screens over the South China Sea with 227 passengers and 12 crew on board, Reuters reported.

He said search operations in an area about midway between Malaysia and Vietnam's southern coast were being intensified.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang urged Malaysia to quickly and vigorously push search and rescue work for a Malaysia Airlines plane which went missing on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, state news agency Xinhua said.

Li made the comments in a call with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Xinhua added.
