Two people were killed and 23 injured when a car careered into a crowd of people near the South by Southwest Interactive (SXSW) music and film festival in Austin, Texas, and a suspect was arrested, police said on Thursday, Reuters reported.
Five of the 23 injured were in a critical condition after the crash near a bar popular with festival goers, the Austin Police Department said in a statement. An "individual is in custody," police said.
An estimated 32,000 people swarm through the capital of the southern U.S. state for SXSW which runs from March 7 to March 16.
