Local Muslims are subjected to racist attacks and are persecuted frequently in Switzerland, the Al Jazeera Web site reported the Union of Muslim Organizations as saying today. A broad campaign has launched against mosque construction, Islamic institutes and organizations in the country, according to the union.
A broad anti-Islamic campaign has launched in the country which calls for stopping the increase in the number of Islamic mosques amid the upcoming Swiss elections Nov. 29.
The Union of Muslim Organizations in Europe includes all the continent's Islamic organizations and calls for defending religious freedom and combating religious racism.
