Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 25 / Trend T. Hajiyev /

Azerbaijan's ruling party considers the document on the Khojaly genocide adopted by the Organization of Islamic Conference as a serious blow to Armenia.

"The document on Justice for Khojaly was discussed at the 13th session of the OIC Parliamentary Union. It was included in the final declaration of the session. This is a serious blow to the aggressor - Armenia," MP Mubariz Gurbanli said in an interview with the official website of the New Azerbaijan Party.

He said that the world community knows about massacre committed by Armenians.

"The political line defined by national leader Heydar Aliyev to inform the world about the Khojaly tragedy is continued. The head of Russian representation of the Heydar Aliyev
Foundation Leyla Aliyeva makes significant contribution in this direction.

The OIC Parliamentary Union recognized the Khojaly tragedy as an act of genocide. It can be a significant step from a political perspective to sentence the perpetrators of this crime in accordance with the international law. At the moment, the work is underway, " he added

The Armenian military forces committed genocide in Khojaly on Feb. 26 1992. More than 600 people were killed, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 old men.
