Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian distorts the facts presented in Madrid principles on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, director of the Center for Political Innovation and Technology, a political scientist Mubariz Ahmedoglu told Trend.

"During Nalbandian's tenure as the foreign minister, Armenia has completely lost its honor. He directly said that in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, the situation is not governed by them, but their patrons," said Ahmedoglu.
The events happening in the world confirm the fairness of Azerbaijan's position, the analyst believes.

"The Armenians rejoiced when they heard about the referendum held in Sudan. However, the voting in Sudan demonstrated the fairness of Azerbaijan's position. We also advocate for a referendum after a few years after the return of refugees to their homelands," he said.
Ahmedoglu believes that in the event of resumption of war, it will need to model the behavior of Russia.

"Russia will do everything that the war is limited only to the territory of Karabakh, since otherwise the process could also cover the North Caucasus. It is not favorable either Russia or Azerbaijan. Furthermore, Moscow tries that the conflict ends as soon as possible," said the analyst.
Ahmedoglu believes that statements that in the event of war, Russia will support Armenia are no more than a myth. "In the event of a war, Russia will have no choice, excluding to defend Azerbaijan," said the analyst.

According to Ahmedoglu, it needs also take into account the Turkish factor.
"Azerbaijan and Turkey have an agreement and in the event of war, Turkey will also provide comprehensive assistance to Azerbaijan," said the analyst.
