Nine year old Fariz Badalov's murder by Armenians is humanity tragedy, besides contradicting all international legal norms and principles, Azerbaijani MP, member of the Azerbaijani delegation to the organization Ganira Pashayeva said at a spring session of the PACE, which opened today in Strasbourg, during discussion of the Bureau and Standing Committee's progress report prepared by the Finnish MP Sinikka Hurskainen.
"A 9-year-old resident of the Orta Garvand village Fariz Badalov was killed when playing in the yard as a result of sniper shot of the Armenian armed forces from positions in the occupied villages of the Agdam region on March 8 - the International Women's Day. Tragic murder of Fariz Badalov, who was the only child of the family, is humanity tragedy, besides contradicting all international legal norms and principles.
A mother broke into tears on the International Women's Day. Here I am a MP representing border zone with Armenia. Those who live there, the mother, whose only child was killed, asked me to convey their voice, opinions to you. That mother asks: "What was my 9-year-old child's guilt to be killed?. Will my child's murderers go unpunished? Why does the CE based on protection of human rights, its Parliamentary Assembly keep silent? Why don't they condemn murder of 9-year-old child? Why doesn't it make any statement? Why don't they demand fulfillment of Armenia's obligations on settling the Nagorno Karabakh conflict when joining the CE, fulfillment of a resolution adopted by the PACE in 2005? The mother, who lost her only child, wants answers to these questions.
No one can return her killed child to her, but she only wants justice and expects it from this organization. I hope that the PACE will not remain indifferent to murder of 9-year-old child, the calls of the mother, who lost her only child and demand fulfillment of the PACE's Resolution N.1416 and obligations undertaken before the CE, besides punishment of the Armenian criminals, condemning 9-year-old Fariz Badalov's murder by the Armenian armed forces. I hope that you will not remain indifferent to a mother's tears and will take a statement condemning this incident.
I hope that you will raise your voice to stop civilians and children's murder. Members of the Armenian delegation Harutunyan and Rustamyan addressed the meeting. We expected them to apologize for Armenian armed forces' crime - murder of Fariz Badalov here. Unfortunately, they didn't do it. And they demonstrated the images of heir country's policy," Pashayeva said.
She informed MPs that the murder of 9-year-old child is not the first incident committed by the Armenian armed forces.
