Tbilisi will host a meeting of NATO's Military Committee in a 28+1 format on Feb.12. Members of NATO's Military Committee led by General Knud Bartels arrived in Tbilisi yesterday, the Georgian Defence Ministry told Trend.

Initially there will be a meeting held between Georgia's Defence Minister Irakli Alasania and committee members today. Following the meeting, Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze and General Knud Bartels will hold a press conference at the Defence Ministry.

The meeting of the Military Committee in a 28+1 format will be held in the Radisson Hotel today. Issues of transformation of Georgia's defence and security, future NATO-Georgian cooperation and Georgia's contribution to the Euro-Atlantic security will be discussed at the session.

State Minister for European Integration Alexi Petriashvili will participate at a working lunch following the meeting.

This is the first outbound visit of the Military Committee to Georgia. The committee sits as the supreme military body of NATO.
