Iranian President Hassan Rouhani presented Reza Najafi as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Iran to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He is to replace Ali Asker Sultaniye, FARS agency reported.
Najafi's appointment to the post was recommended to the President by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Najafi previously worked as Head of the Department of International and Political Affairs of the Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, director of the Office of Disarmament and International Security of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the representative of Iran to the UN Disarmament Committee and in other capacities.
