IAEA inspectors due in Iran January 29, official

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts are due in Tehran January 29, 2014 to inspect Gachin Mine in southern port city of Bandar Abbas, spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said Friday, IRNA reported.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts are due in Tehran January 29, 2014 to inspect Gachin Mine in southern port city of Bandar Abbas, spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said Friday, IRNA reported.

Speaking to IRNA, Kamalvandi said that the visit is taking place in line with an agreement between Iran and the agency on November 11 this year based on Tehran Statement.

As for the second phase of implementaion of the statement, the official said that there no agenda had been set yet for a meeting between Iran and the internatioanl nuclear watchdog to take place February 8 for the purpose.

He said a visit to Arak heavy-water facility, among issues included in Iran-IAEA agreement, was carried out by the agency after which its representatives expressed satisfaction with the inspections.

The steps are scheduled every three months for Iran and the IAEA, Kamalvandi explained, adding that in the next step the two sides are to finalize six issues included in the November agreement.

Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali-Akbar Salehi and the IAEA Director- General Yukiya Amano signed an statement in Tehran on November 11, according to which Iran allowed the IAEA experts to inspect Arak heavy water facility and Gachin mine.
