Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Hamid Karzai on his re-election as president of Afghanistan, AzerTAj state news agency reported.

"I hope that we will continue to make joint efforts to strengthen and further develop relations between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan and the traditions of friendship and cooperation between our peoples," the message of the President says.

Ilham Aliyev wished Hamid Karzai good health and success in efforts to ensure the welfare of the friendly Afghan people.
