Probability of opposition's mass actions of protest is low in Kyrgyzstan: expert

Azerbaijan, Baku, July 24 / Trend V. Zhavoronkova /

Opposition is unlikely to conduct actions of protest as a result of discontent on presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz political scientist Orozbek Moldaliyev said.

Expert said that there were certain shortages during presidential elections on July 23.

"At present, Central Election Commission considers these shortages, statements. But if the commission tells about these shortages, fact of the matter will not change," Moldaliyev told Trend over Bishkek.

Expert said that observers did not fill in acts quite correctly as a result of elections.

"It is unclear whom they accuse either voter for his errors or election commission for shortages while organizing elections at election districts. Violations were noticed at election districts," political scientist said.

Expert said that many violations will not be considered due to incorrect drawing up. At present, they are under consideration of central commission. But several cases will be submitted for consideration of law enforcement agencies.

Opposition is unlikely to take any actions. There will be no excesses till corresponding agencies complete considering appeals.

"But if courts do not take adequate measures, any actions of civil disobedience are likely to be conducted," Moldaliyev said.

Expert said that opposition candidate, Almazbek Atambayev, actively standing for non-recognition of election results is unlikely to gather supporters.

"Atambayev disappointed voters on July 23 saying that he leaves number of candidates for president," expert said.

He said that it is the gravest violation of election code. The candidate had no right to act this way.

Atambayev misled voters and community did not take it positive, Moldaliyev said.

"So, if Atambayev calls people on any meetings, perhaps, people will not support him," political scientist said.
