Kyrgyz Constitutional Court recognized presidential elections held on July 23 as corresponding with Kyrgyz constitution. Kyrgyz Constitutional Court made this decision as a result of a meeting held on July 30, RIA Novosti said.
According to official information of Kyrgyz Central Election Committee, Kyrgyz president Kurmanbek Bakiyev won at elections on July 23 getting 76 percent of votes. Candidate from Kyrgyz united opposition, Social-Democratic party leader Almazbek Atambayev took the second place getting 8.4 percent.
"Constitutional Court considered materials based on protocols of Bishkek and Osh elections commission delivered by central commission for elections and referendums on July 30. Constitutional Court came to a conclusion about constitutionality of Kyrgyz presidential elections, Supreme Court instance said.
