The Georgian parliament made amendments to election code on August 10. Off-year elections are cancelled in accordance with these amendments till new election code is approved.
It should be noted that off-year elections must be held in Ozurget, Gurjaani and Chugureti regions of Tbilisi.
Central Election Committee called elections on September 27. But they will be held in 2010, perhaps, simultaneously with local elections. Author of proposal is deputy speaker Levan Vepkhvadze.
