"Turkmenistan does not make territorial claims towards any country and does not consider any country as its enemy. Turkmenistan considers its borders as those of peace, friendship and good neighborhood," the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov said on the eve of a meeting with the heads of law-enforcement agencies.

"Turkmenistan does not make territorial claims towards any country and does not consider any country as its enemy. Turkmenistan considers its borders as those of peace, friendship and good neighborhood," the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov said on the eve of a meeting with the heads of law-enforcement agencies.

The Turkmen President said that according to the basic principles of military doctrine, we will continue to reform our armed forces to strengthen their defense capabilities by equipping with the modern technology, improve conditions of service, life of defenders of the motherland, the national TV channel, Altyn Asir, said.

He said that Turkmenistan has a lengthy border at the Caspian Sea, which must also be protected onshore." According to his decree, a military-naval base will be established in Turkmenistan till 2015, which will be equipped with modern surveillance equipment and ships with missiles on board.

The Turkmen President motivated the need for such actions by the fact that the international extremist and terrorist groups interested in drugs smuggling develop in modern world.

Berdimukhamedov said that there is internal tension in some countries causing human losses.

According to the official information, Turkmenistan has successfully held several operations to neutralize drugs groups.
