The bill, prepared by Armenian Parliamentarians, that Armenians suffered genocide in Baku is absurd, Azerbaijani MPs said.

"Armenians left Baku easily. They sold their houses and other property. Azerbaijanis were forcedly driven away from Armenia," MP, scientist-historian, Jamil Hasanli, told Trend on September 5.

On September 4, the permanent parliamentary commission on foreign affairs of the Armenian parliament discussed draft statement 'Azerbaijani authorities' genocide towards the Armenian population living in Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast in 1988-1992'. The Armenian parliament will raise this issue for discussion.

Hasanli said that Azerbaijanis even helped Armenians to hide when any hard situation occurred.

"This document is another slander as all other Armenian actions," chairman of the parliamentary commission on human rights, Rabiyyat Aslanova, told Trend .

She said that no document, worked out by the Armenian side, was true.

"It will be considered as next untruth against Azerbaijan. Entire world is aware of Armenians' actions," Aslanova said.

Over 1 million refugees and forcedly displaced people live in Azerbaijan. About 250,000 people are ethnic Azerbaijanis driven away from Armenia in 1988-1992, 600,000 - from Azerbaijani occupied territories, 100,000 - from Azerbaijani and Armenian border regions.

Thousands of Azerbaijanis were killed in Armenia.
