Azerbaijan is Europe's important partner in energy security: President of Slovenia

Slovenian President Danilo Turk sees Azerbaijan as an important partner of Europe in energy security.

"Azerbaijan is an important partner in European energy security and could play a constructive role in this regard", - said to Trend President of Slovenia Danilo Turk.

"Azerbaijan is an important partner of Europe in energy security and can play a constructive role in this regard," President of Slovenia Danilo Turk told Trend .

"I intend to include this issue in the agenda of talks during my official visit to Baku, as well as security issues in general," said Turk.

Slovenian President's visit to Azerbaijan is scheduled for November 9-10, Consul of Slovenia to Azerbaijan Borut Megushar told Trend formerly.

President of Slovenia believes that Azerbaijan can play a constructive role in this matter, as well as in maintaining the peace agreements.

According to Turk, Azerbaijan and Slovenia have good and friendly relationship. It needs to strengthen political consultations between the two countries, and for this purpose, I plan to visit Azerbaijan in November," he said.

"I have already met with the President of Azerbaijan at the UN and appreciate his wisdom and political views. We want to strengthen political consultations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia," said the President.

Slovenian President said that the agenda of talks also includes the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "Recently a positive move has been recorded in this issue. From positive normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations, we also can expect a positive contribution to the solution of the conflict from Turkey's policy towards Armenia. In a broad context, this facilitates the search for solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," the President of Slovenia said.
