Georgia, Tbilisi, October 5 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /
Leader of the Alliance for Georgia Irakli Alasania considers the idea to hold primary for elections of the only opposition candidate for Tbilisi mayor as acceptable one.
Before, the alliance nominated ex-ombudsman Sozar Subari for Tbilisi's mayor on September 22. The Conservative party proposed to hold primary and elect the only opposition leader on September 11. But this idea was not supported that time.
"We consider the idea to hold primary as correct and support it," Alasania said in an interview with Kviris palitra.
He said that victory in elections of Tbilisi's mayor and acquiring a position of a chairman in Tbilisi's municipal agency will be decisive for his political team. "Our slogan is 'We will win in Tbilisi - we will win in Georgia," Alasania said.
Leader of the public movement 'Protect Georgia' Levan Gachechiladze can be another possible candidate for mayor. But he has not officially stated about his participation in elections to be held on May 30, 2010.
The ruling party has not named its candidate for mayor yet.
In the interview with Kviris palitra Levan Gachechiladze said that he has not decided concerning his participation in elections of Tbilisi's mayor.
