Chuburkhinzhi village of Abkhazia's Gali region will host a five-sided meeting on prevention of incidents in the Geneva format on Oct. 6. Under tradition, Head of the Information and Analysis Department the Georgian Interior Ministry, Shota Utiashvili will represent Georgia in the event.
The meetings on preventing tension is being held in the format of the Geneva meetings to avoid tensions in the Caucasus and Georgia, Russia, the Abkhaz side, representatives of the European Union and the UN attends this event.
The meeting discusses the situation in the border area and measures to prevent provocations and defuse tensions.
Georgia will once again raise the question of free movement of the Georgian population of Abkhazia's Gali region through the Georgian-Abkhaz administrative border, Utiashvili said before the meeting.
