U.S Deputy Defense Minister's visit to focus on implementation aspects of Georgian-American charter

Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct. 6 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations, Akaki Minashvili, has commented on the possible visit of U.S Deputy Minister of Defense Alexander Vershbow to Georgia.

The U.S. senior official's visit to Georgia testifies for the intensification of the Georgian-American relations, especially after the charter signed in January, Minashvili told journalists.

Media reports on Vershbow's visit appeared on Oct.7. The exact date is still unknown.

Supposedly, the visit will focus on security issues in Georgia. "During the visit, the talks will center on important areas where we work closely with the U.S," Minashvili added.
